For those who keep missing meetings and such, I shall come to the rescue! I’ll try to post each week’s presentation here! Here is our first meeting of the semester on 1/25/2012::

Hey guys! It’s been a year since i’ve seen anyone! Happy New Years! First off, we are still talking bout when our meetings will start up again and all as Spring semester rolls around. But onto more exciting news, GOODPHIL 2012 is coming up fast! I hope everyone is getting excited and ready as we prepare to blow all the other FSA’s away and get our beloved TROPHY BACK! Just to let you guys know, REMEMBER TO REGISTER if you plan on participating. This year it will be held at The University of Houston (in Houston duh). Hope everyone will have a great winter break! Our annual semi-formal was a success and I hope each and every one of you FSA’ers have a safe and joyful winter break. We will inform you once we begin to meet up again in 2012!

Come out to our next General meeting on Wednesday at our usual spot! We will discuss our Thanksgiving potluck and how FCN 2011 was a SUCCESS! Thank you to all of those who came and supported. Special thanks to Jonathan Labao (Cultural Chair), dancers, and all the helpers who made this event go by smoothly.

Come out this Saturday November 12th, 2011 in the Student Activity Center (SAC) Auditorium on campus  (Speedway st & Inner Campus Drive :: next to the Gregory Gym) from 7PM – 10PM.

There may be free parking (if no other events going on) after 6PM at the museum parking lot on MLK Blvd and Brazos St. If not there, there is Brazos parking garage ($10) at the same intersection.

On another note: Congratulations to Co-ed soccer for a great season, we did out best and ended at playoffs (haven’t made it this far in a long time) with 3-1-1 season. Next year we shall go to the top!

Hey Texas Flips! It’s time for OU Weekend!

The Red River Rivalry match has come back around for another year! This is one of our biggest UT FSA events of the fall semester: the Red River Rivalry football game between UT and OU (Oh who?!). Come out and embrace your Longhorn spirit with your favorite Flips!

For those of you who’ve never been, this is a GREAT experience and a fun way to meet new people. It’s like one big camping trip – minus the sticker-burrows and lack of running water.

Friday: We caravan to our vacation home in Dallas. YES, I said vacation home. YES, it’s that legit. There will be a google doc for rides coming soon!

Saturday: GAME DAY. We all deck ourselves out in burnt orange and head down to the House of Blues to watch our team beat OU to a pulp. After the game, we will have a social mixer with UT Dallas’ FSA at the Texas State Fair! YAY for camaraderie and fried food! They literally fry everything over here, so prepare your arteries.

Sunday: Back to Austin!

Hey Texasflips! Hope you guys had a great weekend!
At this week’s meeting (UTC 4.124) we will finally be revealing the families! I know a bunch of y’all have been dying to know where the Sorting Hat has put you.

Are you with the brave and daring Gryffindors?
The just and loyal Hufflepuffs?
The wise and witty Ravenclaws?
Or the cunning and ambitious Slytherins?

Find out this week! And also find out who your adings/kuyas/ates are!

Not only that, but BOAT PARTY IS THIS WEEKEND! Be sure to come out with your ading/kuya/ate and hang out with the rest of your family. Adings, try to suck up to your kuya/ate so they will pay for you.
The price for the boat party will be:
$20 for members
$25 for non-members

Also, be sure to bring your member dues ($25 for the whole year) this week to get the discount on the boat party and other events like OU weekend and FSA Semi Formal. Paying dues also lets you perform for FCN, Goodphil, and play sports.

Then after the meeting we will be having our Coreanos fundraiser. So come out and enjoy some delicious food and get some Feel Good Points!

We’ll be telling you guys more about the dances that are going to be showcased at FCN as well as any open ideas to acts.

FCN is FSA’s Filipino Cultural Night where we perform various Filipino folk dances as well as showcase Filipino talent around campus and in our organization.

There will also be a halo halo making social afterwards so stick around for the first cultural social of the year!
